pros we had a wonderful stay at a hostel near Copacabana beach. the location was ideal, just a short walk to the beach and the metro. the hostel had a lively atmosphere with nightly events and a book full of affordable tours to choose from. the staff at the reception and bar were incredibly nice and helpful, and the cleaning staff were always hard at work. the dorm rooms were small but had curtains on the beds for privacy. Breakfast was delicious and there was a rooftop terrace where we could relax. it was a great place to meet new people and enjoy our time in Rio.
Cons no negatives from this place 😊.

This hostel is incredible. Staff was great from the moment I walked in on, and the place is beautiful. You do walk thru a bit steep hill to get there, but you can see its a very safe area guarded from both sides which is great for Rio. Breakfast was top! Hostel was very clean and organized. Had a great time in Rio thanks to them

Free Internet, fairly comfortable bed and pillow (in comparison to most hostels)
Very unclean, extremely noisy. I did not get any sleep due to the extreme noise level.

Good lounge and breakfast area with Wifi, good location. I like the fact that their bar closed at 11 pm - this helps for those who want a good night's rest.
I slept in a 8-bed dorm - it was generally fine but it take only 1 inconsiderate person to make it hard to sleep. Bathrooms sometime ran out of paper.

All the persons at the hostel were very friendly. I could notice you can book anything you need, from a taxi to a tour in favela. Breakfast was excellent and the ladies who prepared it were friendly and did everything with care.
The internet conexion was simply terrible, I spent a week and just could used it twice. I spoke about the problem but it seems they couldnt do anything at all. I had to pay 10 reais deposit for the key and when I checked out the girl didnt notify it, even if I did it, to the security staff so had to wait for the reception to open until 8am and almost missed my bus :(

The rooms at Cabanacopa Hostel are perfect for families like ours. They have spacious family rooms that can accommodate up to 6 people. As a parent, I loved the double rooms with private bathrooms and TVs. It made our stay comfortable and convenient.
I personally didn't like that towels were only provided in the double rooms. But hey, it's just my preference.

It is very clean & organised - being a hostel that's not what you expect when you first com here!
Too many rules but no provision to ensure that guests can follow them - for eg: everyoen storing food in teh fridge is asked to label their food else it will be thrown away - Cool! But the hostel staff doesnt provide pens or labels to enusre that guests can mark their food items.

The living area lounge and bar was good. Good vibe. One of the Brazillian reception staff was very helpful. Cleaners did a good job.
Room was covered in damp, worst room ive stayed in sa & to charge £45 was a joke. Twin room was a bunk bed, if known I'd have booked a dorm. Had to go outside & either upstairs or downstairs to get to toilet. Check in was a joke. Had travelled for 24 hours to Rio, very tired. Because there card machine wasn't working was told I had to walk to atm to pay in cash. Would not give me key otherwise. Another girl had same problem over just 1 reil (30p). They should look at this behaviour!!

I had a fantastic stay at Cabanacopa! The hostel has a rooftop terrace with an amazing view of the rainforest. The location is safe and secure with private security around the block. The staff at Cabanacopa went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. They were polite and accommodating, always willing to help out. The atmosphere was great, and there were plenty of tour and party options. The rooms were comfortable, with daily housekeeping and good lighting. The WiFi was reliable, and there were USB sockets for convenience. my experience at Cabanacopa was excellent.
Was all great! 😊

The hostel is located in a friendly neighborhood, close to the beach and with an excellent location just 10 minutes away. the area may be on a steep hill, but it's not a problem at all. the rooms are comfortable, and the bathrooms are well-maintained. the staff provides good service and is friendly. Although the breakfast wasn't as good as in the pictures, there are other facilities like a bar where you can socialize with fellow guests.
There are no organized activities or entertainment provided at the hostel.

We had a fantastic stay at this hostel. The staff were great and very helpful. The breakfast was nice and had a good variety of options. We stayed in two different rooms. One of them was spacious with its own bathroom and the other, although small, was still comfortable. The location of the hostel was excellent as it was very close to Copacabana beach and the metro. We not sketchy at all as there was security at night. a great place to meet other travelers and have a sociable experience.
Nothing at all.
